The Park:

The skatepark contains a variety of ramps from rails, boxes, euro gaps, vert walls, and mini ramps. The ramps are very well made with 2 layers of plywood, and masonite. Some of the ramps are from the old MSU park and have been replied and are skateable. The other ramps are brand new and are in excellent shape.

The pyramid is one of the best obstacles in the park. You can drop in from 2 6 foot quarters to ollie the flat or hit the ledge, or you go across the flat and hit a bank to box. Or you can drop in off the box on the opposite side of the quarter’s, or go down the bank and hit the flat part of the ledge or the hip.

The building it self is in excellent condition, everything has been cleaned up and basically re – done. The park is swept every night and clean before the next day. Make sure you take care of the park, throw all your trash away. We finally got a decent park that we can go to and enjoy, keep it clean!

Shop:

There isn’t really a big selection right now currently. But, Jerry is working on the supply and the more money that comes in from skater’s brings more skate accessories. In stock right now are boards, wheels, trucks, hardwear. The skatepark also carries a lot of cd’s from local bands and some of their memorabilia.

Jerry is trying to get a lot more stuff in to enlarge the selection. Prices are very good, not too high but very reasonable. A lot of local competition is from Exodus Skate Shop, but their located in Winston Salem. The shop specializes in local skateboard companies. Dex Skateboards is really popular right now, so jump on those boards.

There is a pretty big selection on wheels. Such as spitfires, autobahn’s, blank’s and plenty of other’s. Other skate accessories at the shop are skate tools, bearings, griptape and riser pads. All of the skate accessories are brand name. All of the products come from Eastern Skate Supply and South Shore.

Thanks to Jerry, and everyone else who made the skatepark possible.
