Video Review: Tommy Malekoff

Our Life (not to be mistaken with the Oakley video) is John Evans’ first full length video. He’s been working on it well over a year now and it’s finally finished and out there for your hands. This video features a ton of different skaters from the Piedmont, and the diversity will keep you glued to the screen.

Greensboro’s Trey Justice kicks the video off nicely, skating to the sounds of T-Rex. Trey kills it as the youngest with a part, and throws bangers left and right. His ender is intense, but you’ll have to pay to find this one out.

Steve Fox goes second in the lineup and holds it down in Winston with a lot of switch tricks. He skates goofy footed, but you could never tell by the way he switches it up. Definitely a nice part, a lot of manual combos and smooth runs.

Next up is a part that you’re lucky you got to see. Briefly before the video deadline, John picked up footy from the Shooter brothers and it ended up being enough for a full part. This section is one of the best in the video. Cameron Keene has one of the coolest styles around and the Shooters came through with some crazy runs.

Daniel Roberts has the next part and does some gnarly stuff. He does a few lines at the fountains in Winston on that skinny ledge, its sick.

Sturgil Horn’s part is next, and he shares footy with Anthony Alcantara and Cole Frazier from Gainsville, Georgia. This dynamic trio likes to skate stair sets and gaps, but that’s a good thing because they know what they’re doing when it comes to such obstacles.

Eric Reaves comes next and delivers a fun part with a well known Billy Idol song that everyone chanted at the premiere. There’s definitely some good stuff that sticks out in this section.

Following Eric is Reuben Pickle’s part which is personally my favorite to watch. Throughout his whole part, Reuben does the coolest tricks and doesn’t change his facial expression once. His laid back style and wide trick variety makes for a unique 4 minutes of skateboarding.

After Reuben comes the well known Justin Brock. There’s not much to say here…like always Mr. Brock pulls some crazy stuff. What did you expect? Skating Flex Pay will never be the same after watching this.

Drew Hanner got the well deserved curtains. I wont spoil anything but lets just say when you use three rap songs in one part and do flip tricks into handrails, its over.

Both friends montages were good and offered skating from Denver to Florida. They are both really sick and have a ton of different skaters in them.

The filming in this video was on point for the most part. The editing was basic, but not one land was off beat. This isn’t you’re average local video, and its worth your 15 bucks.
